Classified Description

The Minnesota Seminar in Jungian Studies, 2014-2015

The Minnesota Seminar in Jungian Studies is now accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Seminar from persons wishing to engage in the serious study of Jungian psychology. The seminar is designed for therapists seeking to enhance their skills analytically, for individuals hoping to enrich their lives psychologically, and for persons intending to apply for analytic training with the IRSJA (see next paragraph). Drawing on the enormous body of work by Jung and “post-Jungians,” the curriculum is intellectually challenging and stimulating in the rich tradition of depth psychology.

The Minnesota Seminar in Jungian Studies is also a Training Seminar of the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA), the largest analytic training institute in the United States. Anyone interested in learning more about training in the IRSJA through the Minnesota Seminar is invited to contact Judith Savage, MSW, LICSW, LMFT, the Local Training Coordinator, at jasav21665@comcast.net or 651-293-1684.

The seminar faculty consists of local, national, and international Jungian analysts and experts in related fields. Enrollment is limited. Classes are usually held at Macalester College in Saint Paul. The seminar dates for 2014-2015 are September 13-14, October 11-12, November 8-9, December 6-7, February 14-15, March 14-15, April 11-12, and May 9-10. Saturday classes meet from 9:00 a.m. until noon, and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday classes meet from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Tuition for the year is $1,700; training candidates pay an additional $1,000. A case colloquium, which meets from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on seminar Sundays, is available to eligible clinicians in the seminar at a cost of $240 for the year. Financial aid is offered insofar as possible to applicants with documented need.

For further general information, please contact Liza Burr, Ph.D., the Seminar Coordinator, at elizabethgburr@gmail.com or 651-699-6407. An online application form (to be printed, completed, and mailed in) may be accessed at www.minnesotajung.org. The application deadline for the 2014-2015 Seminar is May 15, 2014. A brief interview is required as part of the application process. Applicants whose applications are received by April 30, 2014, are eligible to attend the final course of the current seminar year to be taught by John Beebe on “Contemporary Understandings of Psychological Type,” and held at Luther Seminary on May 10-11, 2014. The cost of the May seminar weekend is $150.
